Changes are being introduced in the Hungarian regulations concerning camera surveillance activities.
Pursuant to the GDPR effective since last year, until now camera recordings as personal data could be withdrawn upon the request of the recorded person at any time. Since this is not practicable, the currently valid legislation would be amended this year through a GDPR harmonising draft bill, pursuant to which camera surveillance, as a legal basis for processing, will be the controller’s legitimate interest.
